EveryStep Giving Tree Shopper Linda Coleman: "It's just a great place to shop!"
Urbandale resident Linda Coleman is a familiar face at EveryStep Giving Tree thrift store. “I’m here four days out of the week because I love clothes!”
Linda says she’s been shopping at EveryStep Giving Tree for years and recommended EveryStep Hospice when a friend needed hospice care. Proceeds from donations and sales at EveryStep Giving Tree are directed to EveryStep’s many nonprofit programs, including hospice care, nurse visits and education for growing families, and grief and loss support.
Knowing her purchases make a difference in the lives of others is one reason Linda enjoys shopping at EveryStep Giving Tree, but she admits the prices and selection are a big draw. “It’s just a great place to shop and I recommend it to most of my friends — but now everybody’s shopping here!” laughs Linda. “There’s so much merchandise coming out and the great prices! It’s really organized and displayed well, which makes such a difference. I think people have a certain image of a thrift store, and this is absolutely nothing like that.”
Linda appreciates that the store expanded hours a few months ago, although it means she has to be even quicker on her purchases. “Things don’t sit here. They come out and they sell. I was in on a Monday and saw a toaster. I didn’t know if my daughter needed one, but by the time I found out and came back on Wednesday, it was gone!
“I couldn’t say anything more about the store — it’s awesome! I’ve never bought anything here I wasn’t happy with.”

EveryStep Giving Tree, located at 3330 100th Street in Urbandale, is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday for purchases and donations. Call the store at 515-270-2414 to learn about its free pick-up service for large donations.
