Kavanagh House Capital Campaign

EveryStep’s Kavanagh House on 56th Street provides a notable presence in an excellent location. Although the facility has had updates over the years, it is time to restore, renovate and upgrade it with appropriate modern amenities, medical equipment, new technologies and efficiencies for the delivery of compassionate medical care to our patients and their families. These enhancements to Kavanagh House will allow it to continue its legacy and maintain its reputation as Central Iowa’s hospice home of choice. You can learn more about the history and meaning of Kavanagh House here.

“Kavanagh House holds a special place in my heart," said Suzie Glazer-Burt, Emeritus Board and Honorary Campaign Chair. "I love that it is truly home for those who are terminally ill. It is essential for families to have a place for their loved ones to go to die with dignity and compassion.” You can read other testimonials and a history of the Kavanagh House here.

Thanks to donor support, EveryStep has exceeded its capital campaign goals to renovate Kavanagh House on 56th Street, raising $3,625,000 to update and improve the 27-year-old building and grounds. Renovation work at Kavanagh House will take place from spring through fall 2021. Throughout renovations, EveryStep will continue to provide hospice house care, using its Bright Kavanagh Center in Des Moines to serve as an interim hospice house. Read more about these plans on our blog. We appreciate all of the generous donors who make it possible for us to continue the Kavanagh House's legacy of providing quality of life at the end of life through compassionate care.
