The Art of Compassion 2022
Note: We regret to inform you that EveryStep’s Art of Compassion has been postponed from October 7, 2021 to April 26, 2022. Given the rise in COVID-19 cases in Iowa due to the Delta variant, we can’t in good conscience bring together more than 275 people in close quarters on behalf of EveryStep, and the nature of this year’s event does not lend itself to a virtual option. As an organization that is charged with caring for its community members, we believe it is best to avoid an opportunity that could spread this contagious variant of COVID-19. Thank you to everyone who has continued to support EveryStep during this challenging time. We could not fulfill our mission and ensure quality care and support without your generosity!
Date: Tuesday, April 26, 2022
Time: 6 p.m.
Location: Glen Oaks Country Club (1401 Glen Oaks Drive, West Des Moines, IA 50266)
Art of Compassion, EveryStep’s signature fundraising gala, brings the community together to celebrate and support programs that positively impact people at life’s most vulnerable times. Your support allows EveryStep to continue to provide compassionate care to our community. Proceeds support our more than 30 programs, including:
- Hospice: Hospice care is provided in our patients’ homes and at Kavanagh House in Des Moines and Greater Regional Hospice Home in Creston. No one is ever turned away from care for inability to pay, making donor support a critical factor in serving everyone who needs our help. Our Quality of Life program is also an important part of hospice care. With support from donors, we are able to grant “wishes” for our patients and their families. Wishes include everything from comfort items, to travel expenses to reunite families, to special experiences that patients want to cross off their “bucket lists.”
- Grief & Loss Services, Home of Amanda the Panda: Grief support is provided at no cost to individuals, children and families struggling with the loss of a loved one. Support groups, educational materials, overnight camps and social events are just a few of the ways we help people find ways to manage grief and live a healthy life.
- Programs For At-Risk Children and Families: EveryStep offers many programs to help families get a healthy start and build a strong foundation for the future. Services include in-home visits, pre- and postnatal education, case management, developmental screenings, interpretation and more — all at no cost.
