Baby Bloom 2025 serves hundreds of growing Iowa families

DES MOINES, IOWA  --  Hundreds of new and expecting mothers and their families were treated to a day of fun, free stuff and crucial information about their physical, emotional and financial health at Baby Bloom 2025.

This year's event moved to a new location at the DMACC Urban Campus in Des Moines on May 10th and built off the success of last year's event.  EveryStep partnered with Healthy Start Consortia, Iowa Total Care, Hawki, Wellpoint, MercyOne, Blank Children's Hospital, Delta Dental, Molina Healthcare, Broadlawns, Healthy Birth Day, Planned Parenthood and Polk County Decat along with dozens of volunteers to create a one-of-a-kind, one-stop-shop inform, educate and entertain new mothers and their kids.

Tons of free produce, thousands of free diapers and other baby needs, toothbrushes, toys and books were handed out.  A few lucky winners walked away from the raffle with a new stroller, crib, pack n' play and car seats.  Dozens of kids' faces were painted, and hundreds of hugs were handed out by Amanda the Panda and Louie, our therapy dog in training.  

Most importantly, attendees learned about free and low-cost insurance programs, dental health, had their blood pressure checked, and their blood screened for iron and hemoglobin levels.
