Meet EveryStep Council Bluffs Hospice Team regional director Heidi Comley

EveryStep is pleased to announce the appointment of Heidi Comley as regional director of EveryStep Hospice in Council Bluffs. In addition to supporting the growth of the Council Bluffs team, Comley provides oversight and marketing support to leaders of EveryStep’s hospice, home care and palliative care teams in Creston and Mount Ayr.

Born and raised in Council Bluffs, Heidi began her health care career 20 years ago. “I started as a CNA in a local nursing home and earned my Med-Aide, LPN and RN, all while at the nursing home. I then started my hospice career 15 years ago as the weekend on-call nurse.” Heidi became an RN care manager, then moved up in management, holding several positions at the agency and corporate level. Most recently, she worked on COVID-19 units. 

Heidi attended Iowa Western Community College, where she earned one diploma and two degrees. She earned her Bachelor of Science in nursing (BSN) from Western Governors University and is completing her Master of Business Administration.

“The culture here at EveryStep was exactly what I was looking for when looking for my next work home,” said Comley. “I want to see myself grow with EveryStep and help others seek out and achieve their goals. I am so grateful to be here and look forward to many, many years with everyone.”

Heidi has 16 members in her immediate family, including seven nieces and nephews. “Aunt Heidi spoils them rotten!” says Heidi. “We are a very close family, and you usually will find all of us together Friday nights, or Saturdays during football - GO HAWKS!”
