To receive EveryStep’s free doula services, you must qualify for and become enrolled in one of these programs:

EveryStep Doula Services Project

is available to pregnant individuals who:

Reside in one of the following Iowa counties: Dallas, Madison, Polk or Warren.
Enrolled in a EveryStep Care & Support program - Learn more.
Do not need to meet any income conditions.

Iowa HHS’ Title V Doula Project

(administered by EveryStep) is available to pregnant individuals who:

Identify as Black or African American.
Reside in Polk County.
Are eligible for Medicaid during their pregnancy.

Clients receive support from doulas who also identify as Black or African American, who empower their clients on their paths through healthy pregnancy, delivery and post-partum experiences.

What if I do not fit the criteria above?
You can contact your local Health Department, which has resources to assist you.
